      The medical technical laboratory makes prostheses for upper and lower extremity, using semi-manufactured articles of the German company Otto Bock and aims to introduce the new technologies of the company Otto Bock thus improving the quality of life of its patients.

Support Orthoses 
Orthoses provide force from the outside onto the body and offer
stabilisation,immobilisation, relief and/or correction.

The traditional terms "supporting apparatus" or "joint bars" refer more specifically to one part of the construction and to orthoses that are custom-manufactured by orthopaedic technicians. Their field of application includes trunk orthoses for the correction of spine curvatures and paralysis orthoses for lower extremities that are made from plaster models.

Standard, serial-produced orthosis constructions are generally applied for temporary use after operations and injuries. These Modular Orthoses consist of functional elements that are implemented at the fitting. There are different sizes. In addition, modular orthoses enable variable functions such as movement limitation for post-operative knee orthoses or shoulder joint adjustments for arm abduction orthoses. 
 

Silicon Products
Individuality was a top priority for the designers of Otto Bock Silicone Products. Because the fittings and fitting technologies offered with Silicone Products should be as special as the people and their individual requirements.

Each fitting is considered a "work of art" that can fascinate through its customised, natural colour and form specifications. In addition, users benefit from the functional advantages and a high wearing comfort.

Silicone Products are made of such materials as Medical Grade HTV Silicone.

Lower Limb Prosthetics
A simple step consists, in fact, of a complex set of movements. A great many functions thus need to be replaced by an orthosis, depending on the amputation level.
The Otto Bock Modular System includes a wide selection of knee joints, foot types and adapters, allowing orthopedic technicians to carry out sophisticated leg prosthesis fittings. The knee joints are controlled with the proven friction brake with pneumatic and hydraulic controls or with the computer-controlled C-Leg System.

Upper Limb Prosthetics
Arm prostheses can replace the most important functions of a missing hand (e.g. opening and closing the hand) and re-establish its outer appearance. From cosmetic features to myoelectric components, Otto Bock offers the complete fitting spectrum for arm prostheses.

Cosmetic arm prostheses recreate the outer appearance of the missing limb and are the preference of patients who are most concerned about cosmetic appearance. Their functionality, however, is very limited.

Cable-controlled arm prostheses are body-powered prostheses. The prostheses wearer uses his/her own body force, e.g. from the residual limb and/or the shoulder girdle, to operate the prosthesis. The movement is transferred to the prosthesis via a body harness.

Myoelectrically controlled arm prostheses are powered from outside the body. The biochemical process of each muscle contraction generates an electrical tension which is then measured on the skin. These signals are used to control power prostheses. Thanks to the intelligent control technology, it is very easy to carry out different movements and grasp functions.
